- Over half a million people visit the Adelaide Botanic Gardens every year, making it the most visited attraction in South Australia.
- Opened in 1857, The Adelaide Botanic Gardens were originally influenced by the English Royal Gardens at Kew and the French Versailles.
- The Palm house is thought to be the last remaining example of a Victorian Glasshouse and is dedicated entirely to plants from Madagascar, including at risk and endangered species from the island.
- The recently opened pavilion, houses one of the world’s most fascinating plants, the Amazon Water Lily. The pads float like giant saucers measuring up to 2 meters in diameter and its flowers grow to an impressive 40 centimeters.
- The Garden of Health is designed on a 16th century European Physics Garden, containing all manner of healing plants used by 16th century physicians to make ointments, balms and remedies.
