Creating an outdoor living area for the children and hosting relaxing summer barbecues became a struggle for Kristy and John Hakey with the emotional year they’ve experienced.

• Like many Australians the recession hit this family hard, with John being made redundant.
• Financial struggles increased as they welcomed the birth of twins which doubled the family to four girls under four years old.
• To top things off luck was not on their side when John ended up on life support during a wisdom teeth surgery gone wrong.
• The family’s main priority is to create a safe backyard for their four beautiful girls to play in for years to come.
