Wembley Downs Primary School
- Their colourful veggie patch began as just soil and seeds and three years on, it’s absolutely thriving.
- The garden has lots of variety; there’s a healthy crop of carrots, easy to grow broad beans, tomatoes that are starting to ripen, a bed of potatoes, and delicious strawberries,
- All of this is organically grown, with the help of a worm farm and regular composting.
- The students have hatched chooks that now provide fresh eggs for the canteen.
- Teachers often plan their cooking classes around the weekly harvest.
