Featured Place: Mansfield?s Propagation Nursery
- Is one of Australia?s leading propagators. They grow and supply over three million native and exotic plants to the landscape and garden industries annually.
- In 2008, the nursery was recognized for its outstanding water savings achieved in business for their state-of-the-art purpose-built propagation facility.
- This facility allows the nursery to use treated water for almost 80% of their water requirements, which has heavily reduced their reliance on mains potable water.
- This has seen the installation of thousands of drains beneath the growing area, allowing for water to be captured and piped to on-site wetlands where it is treated and stored ready for use around the nursery.
- Mansfield?s Propagation Nursery has also implemented several other water saving measures.
- The entire nursery has been fitted with low-volume sprinkler heads to minimize irrigation water usage.
- The Nursery is recognized as leaders in innovation in the water industry.
