Baked minced beef dish with custard topping
Ingredients
1 kg Beef Mince
2 slices of Whole wheat Bread
250ml Boiling Water
2 Onions Chopped
2 Cloves of Chopped Garlic
20 ml Curry Powder
15ml Mixed Herbs
15ml Cumin
15 ml Coriander
5 ml Tumeric
5 ml Ginger
20 ml Apricot Jam
75 g Raisins
40 ml Red Wine
Salt
Pepper
Topping
2 Large Eggs
250ml Milk/ Buttermilk/ Sour Cream
Salt
Pepper
8-10 Bay Leaves
Method
Mince
- Add spices to pot with onions, garlic and ginger.
- Add mince.
- Add white pepper and salt and mixed herbs, followed by black pepper.
- Add red wine and raisins.
- Pour into tray.
Custard
- Whisk ingredients together.
- Pour on top of mince in tray.
- Add bay leaves on top.
- Sprinkle with mixed herbs.
- Bake at 180 degrees Celsius for 30-45min.
