Community Forests

Episode: Ten
Air Date: 1st November 2008
Presenter: Neville Passmore
Story Title: Community Forests

Neville pays a visit to the Town of Newman, located in the heart of WA’s Pilbara, to help the local children of Newman to plant a family forest.

The town has neither a midwife service, nor a maternity hospital, and as a result, since 1999 mothers have had to travel all the way to Port Headland to have their babies.

The family forest seeks to help those Newman kids that were born elsewhere, to sink their roots back into their hometown.
