Your Garden Questions Answered and Mitre 10 Competition
Episode: Ten
Air Date: 1st November 2008
Presenter: Neville Passmore
Story Title: Your Garden Questions Answered and Mitre 10 Competition
A common problem that occurs in many new gardens is the yellowing of foliage. Neville has this problem in his garden, and is opening for the open garden scheme on Sunday. This caused by high alkalinity which comes from builders’ rubble mixing with the soil. Neville shows you how to get your plants back to their normal, healthy colour.
To get you plants back to their normal colour, use Sulfate of Iron – Dissolved with water.
- It will drop the pH level of the soil
- Adds iron to the soil as the lime and cement from the builders’ rubble tend to lock out the iron from the soil.
Visit Neville’s open garden on the 2nd of November 2008.
