Conserving water is so important, especially with summer coming up. Luckily, a truckload of inventions to combat drought and water shortages are helping gardeners to save water. Holman Industries, a Western Australian company who are innovators in irrigation, have a few great ideas to improve water delivery efficiency.

Holman drip spike

  • Add drip spikes to your existing pots to water during dry periods or use as a slow release plant feeding system.
  • The bottle will automatically start to drip when the bottle is inverted into the soil.
  • Screws onto a plastic drink bottle.
  • Easy to attach.
  • Adjustable drip rate- can be screwed to either a 600mL, 1.25L or 2.0L bottle. It takes about a maximum of 6 days to empty 1000mL on setting 9.

Holman WaterSmart™ Dripping Hose

  • ideal for gentle and accurate watering of garden areas.
  • The hose is designed to emit small droplets of water along the entire length of the hose.
  • The three flow discs supplied allow the user to regulate the amount of water entering the hose to ensure it waters evenly along the entire length of the hose & does not squirt out of the holes.
  • The water flow disc is a device that limits the amount of water entering the dripping hose, a longer dripping hose will require more water than a shorter length, so using the different flow discs will create an even distribution of water all the way along the length of the hose.
  • Holman WaterSmart™ Dripping Hose can be used with standard 13mm poly fittings, also can be installed above or below ground.

Water Tubes

  • Watering with the assistance of Borby™ water tubes ensures deeper, healthier and more vigorous root development by permanently delivering water, oxygen and nutrients directly to the roots.
  • This style of watering is particularly effective in harsh soil conditions such as clay or compact soils.
  • 2 x Dia 50mm x 300mm long tubes.
  • Each tubes has 28 holes (Dia 6mm) along the length to allow the water to leach into the root zone.
