Nigel keeps up with the latest garden fashion on a budget with low maintenance plants that require little to no work at all but are still stylish. Low maintenance gardening has never been easier and Nigel shares with you his favourite Ozbreed selection.

Featured Plants-

Tanika

  • Attractive, deep green, versatile plant with attractive yellow flowers in Spring.
  • Grows well in full sun and moderate to heavy shaded positions.
  • Tolerates windy and salt laden positions.
  • Fertiliser is rarely required.
  • Remains evergreen with very little care. Nigel’s 7 year old Tanika has never been trimmed and irrigated, and has only been fertilised twice in 7 years, remaining evergreen for the whole time.

Little Jess Dianella

  • Stylish purple flowers and glossy green foliage
  • Dwarf, compact, very hardy and has a low water requirement.
  • Tolerates a wide range of soils and climatic requirements. Suited to full sun, as well as shady positions.
  • Great for mass planting, Japanese style gardens, accent plant, foliage or grassy gardens.
  • Nigel’s 6 year old plant has had no  maintenance or irrigation and has looked great for the entire time

 

Cassa Blue

  • Stunning blue flowers and foliage
  • For mass planting, accent plant, foliage or grassy gardens.
  • Low water requirement and tolerates a wide range of soil and climatic conditions.
  • Hardy with excellent cold, heat, frost and drought tolerance.

 

Utopia

  • Absolutely stunning. It boasts contrasting purple and green foliage, which sporadically twists and turns providing a unique look.
  • Grows to an average size of 50cm tall by 50cm wide, with graceful flower stems reaching over 1m in height.
  • Can be used for mass planting, foliage or accent grassy gardens, adding a unique colour perspective to any garden.
  • Tolerates a wide variety of climatic conditions. Full sun to part shade. Vary hardy, drought and frost tolerant.

Velvet Kangaroo paws

  • A low maintenance mass flowering plant.
  • Tough- very drought tolerant.
  • Cleaner foliage than other kangaroo paws- more disease tolerant and much more resistant to black spot.
  • Gold and Ruby velvet, flower 9 months of the year, and benefit from annual trimming.

 

Kingsdale

  • Gorgeous blue colour and attractive fine, deep green, strap like leaves.
  • Ideal for mass planting in garden beds and borders.
  • Will tolerate exposed and windy conditions.
  • Grows well in full sun and shaded positions.
  • Only requires occasional watering.
  • Trim annually in Autumn or late Winter for peek performance.
  • Very little care needed.

 

Flamin

  • Semi compact Phormium, with red, orange and bronze tones. Although it is a single colour Phormium, it uniquely has this tri tone appearance. Literally glows in the sun.
  • For mass planting, rockeries and ornamental gardens.
  • Grows well in full sun to shaded positions. Tolerates heavy frost and moderately dry conditions. Suitable for most soil types. In more humid areas care should be taken to plant in well drained soils.
  • Low maintenance once established.
