Invasive Plants Hint

Episode #14 14/07/07
Presenter: Trevor Cochrane

One thing we all need to be a bit careful of is garden plants that become invasive and move into other peoples properties or into our natural bush land.

Classic examples include Ivy (Hedera helix) which can be really invasive, the Cotoneaster (Cotoneaster salicifolius) is a real problem because the berries are taken by birds and spread all over the place and another plant that is becoming a big problem is the Agapanthus (Agapanthus praecox). A simple way to control the Agapanthus is to cut off the seed heads and that way they are not going to move out of your garden and at the same time will look great.
