Bruce’s Garden

Episode: # 12 30/06/07
Presenter: Neville Passmore

We have all heard the story about the mechanics car that is always out of tune but what about a garden centre owner’s garden?

Neville visits the garden of Bruce Wright, an award winning garden centre operator. His business is called Miaflora and so is his garden. To Neville it is a very special place.

The concept is a destination garden to showcase what people can do in their own garden.

There are formal parts to the garden, a rose garden and there is really something for everyone.

One of the keys in landscaping is about hiding the things you don’t like to look at and accentuating the things you do. Neville just loves how you have to follow all the different paths because it makes the garden more interesting; you just have to see what is around that corner!

Long term plans for Bruce’s Garden is to open up a retail garden centre on the property so people will be able to wander through the garden centre, have some tea and coffee and get some inspiration to take back home with them.

Bruce’s Garden is open to the public as a part of Australia’s Open Garden Scheme.
