Fairhill Native Nursery

Episode: # 11 16/06/07
Presenter: Phil Dudman

Right now is a great time to be planting Australian native plants so Phil visits the famous Fairhill Native Nursery on the Sunshine Coast.

Fairhill have the largest range of Australian native plants and they have all been chosen for the local climate, so you know whatever you choose will perform well in your garden. Fairhill is a family owned business run by passionate gardeners who have lived and breathed native plants way back since 1975.

Nowadays more and more gardeners are sharing that passion for native plants, not only for their beauty and variety but because they cope so well with our harsh climatic conditions.

If you want to learn more then it is the place to come because the friendly staff are very knowledgeable and they always make sure you leave with the right plants for your garden.

There is something else that is very special about Fairhill. Beyond the nursery is an amazing botanical garden with over 10 acres full of native plants. The sheer diversity of natives on display is just amazing. It is a great place to get ideas

When you are ready to rest your legs there is the Elements Garden Restaurant where you can enjoy a meal or a refreshing cuppa. They have a marvellous bookshop with a fabulous selection of gardening books, there is a gift and card shop too and even an art gallery. It is all themed around the beauty and diversity of Australian native plants.

You can also catch up with the team from Fairhill at this year’s premier gardening event – the Queensland Home Garden Expo in Nambour. Please see the fact sheet for more information.
