Berwick Potteries
has been on this site since 1968, which means they have seen a lot of changes in gardening trends. So it is no surprise that today it is the place to come for inspirational ideas on how to keep your garden looking great with little water.

Just because conditions are dry, does not mean you cannot still create a feeling of lushness in the garden, you just have to be smart about it. All it takes is a few buckets of excess shower water to run a fountain like this. Water Walls are perfect for decorating a courtyard or balcony. Just top them up once or twice a week with recycled water and they are ready to go, your own little oasis. Even when they are not running, the designs are a real feature.

Melissa discovers a decorative way to make the most of water collected from your roof. It is a simple water diverter, which diverts water out of the down pipe and into a big urn. And once the urn is full you simply close it off.

The urn not only looks great, but it is a bit like a stylish water tank, so you are not compromising the look of your garden. You can drop in a low voltage electric pump and attach a hose to, so you can fill a bucket or run it straight out onto the garden, a fresh supply of water to keep your plants looking great!

Of course there is more to gardens than just plants.

You can enhance outdoor living areas with ornaments and furniture that blend with the style of your house and garden. Create your own private paradise with a gazebo or bring an old-fashioned air to the garden with wrought iron benches and tables. And don’t forget the birds either, all it takes is a bucket of shower water and a decorative bird bath to keep our feathered friends happy in the garden.

Pots are the perfect choice for brightening the patio or balcony and there are some great water wise options. If you want that lovely earthy terracotta look for “CottaSeal” pots. They have been treated with a water resistant sealant, which stops water from soaking into the pot, so they help to save water and reduce plant stress. Glazed pots are another top choice for reducing moisture loss and come in a diverse range of colours and styles.
