Proud Perth Hint

Episode: #1 10/03/07
Presenter: Trevor Cochrane

If you are wondering how much water your garden really needs to sustain itself through our long hot summers, well a good case study is in Western Australia.

The Water Corporation
in Western Australia limited gardeners to watering there gardens just twice a week, six years ago, today gardens are thriving and looking fantastic.

Gardens do not need a huge amount of water each week just two drinks a week 15mm each time, is more than enough to keep most plants looking great.

If you are not sure about exotics verses natives, well just to give you an example, a hydrangea is going to use ten times more water than a grevillea.
