The modern garden centre we know today has evolved to reflect the times. The very concept of the garden centre has become more and more lifestyle oriented, encompassing a broad range of interests and activities.
One centre that continues to lead the way in Queensland is Botanix Lifestyle Garden Centre at Wellington Point. There is something there for everyone.
One of the joys of having a garden is harvesting your own fresh flowers and foliage and if you have always wanted to learn more about how to arrange them, then you will love taking part in one of the Floristry workshops at Botanix. Libby Ryding has years of floristry experience, and she will show you how to turn your home-grown blooms into brilliant displays to brighten up your home.
If you love the idea of creating your own artworks, then there are a variety of art classes at Botanix too. Botanix artist Leo Herreygers can help you hone your skills in still life drawing, or if you prefer to make things you can enjoy a workshop in mosaics and make a beautiful piece of your own to take home and display in the garden.
So you see modern garden centres like Botanix offer much more than just plants. The surroundings are so beautiful; it is just a marvellous place to spend some time.
The café is at the centre of it all with a lively atmosphere and a terrific menu. It is open all week but on Sunday afternoons things really take off with live entertainment from some of Brisbane’s finest groups so think about heading down and joining in the fun with family and friends.
Saturday afternoons offer another experience altogether with wine tastings held every Saturday. It is a great chance to sample some fine wines while viewing some of the artworks in the Wellington Point Art Gallery.
