Interesting Facts About the Chinese Gardens

• The Chinese community in Sydney initiated the gardens so they could share their rich cultural heritage with Australians.
• The garden is governed by the Taoist principles of ‘Yin-Yang’ and incorporates the 5 elements of earth, fire, water, metal and wood into every aspect of the design.
• The grounds are a scaled-down version of a typical private garden from the Shang dynasty 3000 years ago.
• The garden is open daily from 9:30am – 5:30pm and is closed on Good Friday and Christmas Day.
• Some of the garden highlights include Dragon Rock, the Dragon Wall and the Twin Pavilion
