Before any installation can truly take place, planning and spacing is the most important step that Nige and Darren know well that they can’t miss.

• The fundamental design of an irrigation system determines its effectiveness, from spacing to water flow, it determines if a garden can survive and thrive during the long hot summer months.
• Start with a sketch of your property, gardens, lawns and house. Measure out each area and add that to your sketch. Then divide your drawing into areas… for example here we have Front yard and backyard.
• From here take your flow rate measurement which is crucial to working out how many pop ups we can have in each zone.
• Correct spacing will allow spray patterns to overlap and assure even water distribution. Do not mix sprinkler types within one area. Do not place sprinkler heads too far apart; stay within specifications listed on the Sprinkler Performance Charts, which can be found in the Hunter Product Catalogue.
• A simple preliminary design for a retrofit job is all that’s needed for your Hunter retailer to help you out with all the new gear you need.
