Looking after and feeding our plants is the best way to make our gardens look fantastic. Bonnie and James will show you the best way to re pot a large succulent.

  • Scott's Osmocote cacti and succulent premium potting mix is formulated as a free-draining mix with the ideal aeration that meets the optimum growing conditions for cacti and succulents.
  • Scott's Osmocote is boosted with calcium. Which supports nutrient uptake and more muscular plant cells and potassium, which helps support steady growth and improve resistance to pests and diseases.
  • Scott's Osmocote controlled-release fertiliser feeds for six months.
  • Osmocote has controlled release, meaning that the nutrients are only available depending on the soil temperature, ensuring that the plants are fed when they are actively growing.
  • Different signs that indicate that your plants need repotting:
    • The first sign is the roots. They will be escaping through the drainage holes. This tells us that the pot is no longer big enough for the plant.
    • Quality of the soil. As the plants use the nutrients and establish their roots, the soil can shrink away from the pot, leaving it unbalanced and hungry.
  • The perfect time to repot these plants is either at the start of spring or autumn.
    • Reasons behind this:
Encourages better root development as the weather is still warm enough for these plants to grow and establish into their new pots.
