Lawn Tip – Armyworms

Story: Lawn Tip – Armyworms
Episode: 15
Presenter: Michael Maartensz
Air Date: 17th December 2022

Michael shares his tips and tricks to defeating Lawn Armyworms.

  • Lawn Armyworms are a damaging pest when in the larval life cycle and the soft bodied caterpillar has a unique white and yellow striped pattern along the length of their back making them relatively easy to identify.
  • The female moths can lay up to 1000 eggs over a 4–10-day period with the newly hatched Armyworm devouring through the grass leaves like an army on the march.
  • Luckily we now have access to a fantastic pre-emergent insecticide called Acelepryn GR that comes in a convenient granular for ease of application.
  • ACELEPRYN GR provides unmatched, season long grub and caterpillar control in a single application, meaning an application in Spring will provide up to 6 months control of not only Armyworm but also Beetles, Billbug and Cutworm.
  • The efficiency and longevity of performance means your lawn will be protected for longer and because it is exempt from poison scheduling, it’s safer for you and the family.
  • Prevention is always the best defence so be sure to get some of this on the lawn and claw back some control this Summer.
